They’re always there for you. They get that you’re busy and need a healthy, easy meal STAT. And they always fit that bill.
No matter if you make this classic recipe or if you go international with some Greek turkey meatballs with feta or go meatless with gluten free vegan chickpea meatballs, OR totally meat-full with whole30 sweet and sour paleo meatballs.
They’re always BOMB.com, everyone loves them and they even taste good the next day when tired-you still doesn’t want to make dinner.
Not that I know anything about that.
Anyway, these meatballs are no different!
WHY YOU WILL LOVE THIS RECIPE
Here on the blog, we have recipes for all dietary needs and preferences, including many for those of you who LOVE meat! And nothing screams comfort food like a pile of MEATBALLS- whether it be low carb buffalo chicken meatballs, easy mexican meatballs with zucchini noodles or THESE healthy turkey meatballs I’m about to show you! These meatballs use lean turkey to make, but they are not dry by any means, and are also loaded with delicious flavor that won’t make you miss beef meatballs at all! They use ingredients you’ll feed good about and pair well with so many sides, so what’s not to love?!
GROUND TURKEY MEATBALL RECIPE INGREDIENTS
To make these tender, flavorful meatballs, you will need a handful of ingredients you may already have hanging around your pantry and fridge. Let’s round everything up and get started:
- Bread Crumbs (you could use coconut flour if you wanted to make whole30 meatballs and leave out the cheese)
- Parmesan Cheese
- Italian Seasoning
- Fresh minced garlic
- Onion Powder
- Lean Ground Turkey
- Olive Oil
HOW TO MAKE HEALTHY TURKEY MEATBALLS
Fire up your oven and while it preheats, line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
Add all the ingredients except for the turkey to a large mixing bowl and stir to combine. Next, add in the turkey and mix it until it’s just combined.
Using a cookie scoop, scoop up meatballs and place them onto the prepared baking sheet with some room in between each meatball.
Place the pan into the oven and bake the meatballs for about 15 minutes, or until a meat thermometer reaches 165 degrees. Serve them up with your favorite sauce and pasta and DEVOUR!
HEALTHY MEATBALLS COOKING VARIATIONS
If you don’t want to bake your meatballs, there are ways to get creative in how you cook them! Instead of baking them slowly, you can broil them by placing them in the oven on a high broil for about 5-10 minutes, flipping the meatballs once during the cook time. Alternatively, you can fry the meatballs in oil on the stovetop in a pan. Simply fry them on medium-high heat, flipping once, until the meatballs are done. This should take about 5-8 minutes in total.
HOW TO MAKE MEATBALLS AHEAD OF TIME
If you love the idea of doubling or even tripling a batch of this healthy turkey meatball recipe, I say GO FOR IT! These are GREAT for meal prep and you can either cook them and keep them in the fridge ready to eat, or store them raw until you’re ready to cook them!
HOW TO STORE MEATBALLS
To store these tasty turkey meatballs once they’re cooked, simply place them in an airtight container and they will last for up to 3 days this way in your fridge. If you wish to store them raw, I recommend also storing them in an airtight container for up to 2 days before cooking and enjoying them!
HOW TO FREEZE MEATBALLS
If you want to store them in the freezer, simply freeze them flat on a pan, then once they are frozen solid you can toss them into a zip lock style freezer bag until you’re ready to thaw and cook them!

Heat your oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients except the turkey. Once mixed, add in the turkey and mix until just combined.
Scoop into 1 tbsp sized balls (I use a cookie scoop) and place onto the baking sheet, rubbing with the oil.
Bake 15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center reads 165 degrees F.
Serve with your favorite pasta and sauce and DEVOUR!
